Special Programs social events provide individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities a chance to spend time with old friends, build new relationships, experience a variety of activities, and grow their independence while having some fun at the Y.
Dinner and a Movie - Pabst Farms
Lights, camera, action! Enjoy a night at the Y with your friends! Includes dinner and the viewing of a movie at the YMCA. Movies will be rated PG or PG 13.

Summer Trips
Let’s get out of the YMCA and have some fun around Wisconsin this Summer.
Trips are designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities aged 14 and over.
If you have never participated in programs with the YMCA before please contact Kathy Sheridan, Special Programs Coordinator, at [email protected] to arrange an intake meeting before registering.
State and County funding are not accepted for these programs as admission fees and food are not allowable expenses.
All Access Field Trips (these trips are suitable for all participants including those with mobility limitations).
- Milwaukee County Zoo – Monday June 16th
- Fireside Theater: Little Mermaid – Friday August 1st
- Milwaukee Brewer’s Game – Thursday August 28th
Adventure Trips (these trips require the ability to pass a swim test for water trips, walk on rough or uneven ground for extended periods of time, and climb multiple fights of stairs with minimal assistance).

Theater Class
Join us for our newest program our Theater class. The group will get together on Thursdays from 3 pm to 4 pm and learn the art of theater. They will enjoy drama games and will put on a production at the end of the session. In this program participants will explore self-expression, build confidence, and improve social skills through performing arts. The program culminates in a performance where everyone’s talents are celebrated! Join us for a fun and empowering journey through the world of theater, where every voice is heard, every story matters, and everyone shines.
