Thriving Families Mental Health & Wellness Fair

YMCA at Pabst Farms

Interact with exhibitors and learn about organizations, businesses, and ministries that support mental, physical and spiritual wellness.

Attend mini-workshops and engage in activities that promote mental well-being including craft stations and a community art project. We will also have opportunities to win raffle items from the YMCA & our exhibitors.

No registration is required.

“Compassion Resilience for Parents and Caregivers” with Joan Haznaw, Rogers Behavioral Health

9:30 am in the Senior Center 

Caring for ourselves is essential to caring for others. Join us for an engaging session focused on building compassion resilience through self-compassion, setting healthy boundaries, and taking time to reflect on what “fills your cup.”

Reset and Reconnect: Somatic Strategies to Calm your Nervous System” with Leticia Mayes, See Brighter Days LLC

10:15am in Multi-Purpose 2

Take a mindful pause to come learn how to reset your nervous system through evidence-based gentle, body-centered practices such as breathwork, micro-movement, grounding and centering exercises, as well as sensory awareness. Many strategies are easily modified to be appropriate for children and adolescents.

What we put in our body profoundly impacts mental health. The gut-brain connection is recognized by all of medicine as an integral piece of mental health! Food sensitivities, which are different from allergies, such as gluten, sugars, and processed foods cause brain inflammation. Food dyes cause actual misfiring in the brain, significantly affecting anxiety, ADHD, autism, etc. Learn what these foods are and have a conversation about how to use the information in your life!

From Les Mills, this class combines moves derived from Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates to form a workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you centered and calm.
