A stand-out highlight will be the EGYM strength circuit which uses cutting edge technology to make strength training work for everyone. It delivers goal specific training through a game-like experience, giving the user a full-body workout in as little as 20-minutes. Members receive a wristband at their initial onboarding session that syncs with a mobile app. At future visits, members enter the circuit at the first machine and the equipment automatically remembers and adjusts to their personalized settings and will continue to modify their plan based on progress. EGYM fitness takes the guesswork out of strength training and gives members a fun, easy-to-use, motivating workout option, completely customizable to their personal goals.
Wellness and Strength Equipment
In addition, the Ehlinger Center will offer 11 single-station pieces from the Matrix Go Series, strength equipment focused on the major muscle groups, as well as a 500 square foot Fit Bench Wellness Floor, an area dedicated to kettle bells, light to moderate dumbbells, battle ropes, stretching and wellness open floor workouts.
Overlooking the Rock River, 19 pieces of cardio equipment will provide a water view, including: Matrix treadmills, ascent trainers, climbmills, upright and recumbent bikes, virtual training cycles, rowers, and NuStep recumbent steppers.
There will be studio space available for fitness classes, including a remarkable 1,300 square foot, state-of-the-art Functional/Small Group Training Studio. One of the first of its kind in the nation, this space will feature turf flooring and a central rig for hanging TRX suspension training straps. It will also feature the MX4 Training System, a new small group training program that incorporates Myzone, a hardware, software and wearable platform that provides real-time feedback on heart rate, calories burned, and effort, motivating members to reach their personal best.
Chapel & Recovery Space
The Chapel & Recovery space will provide a tranquil setting for members to participate in activities like small group yoga, meditation, foam rolling, and stretching. This quiet space will also feature a massage chair for relaxation. The YMCA is an organization that strongly promotes the overall health of the individual, equally addressing all areas – Spirit, Mind, and Body – while intentionally offering spiritual development as part of our service to the community.
