YMCA Teen Advisory Board Leads Effort to Collect 752 Hygiene Items for Bethany Recovery Center

At the YMCA, strengthening community goes beyond the walls of our facility—it’s about showing up for one another in meaningful, tangible ways. That spirit was on full display as members of our YMCA Teen Advisory Board led an inspiring effort to collect an incredible 752 personal hygiene items in support of Bethany Recovery Center.

This initiative was more than a donation drive—it was a powerful example of youth leadership in action. Through their dedication and teamwork, our teen leaders rallied support from members, staff, and families, demonstrating how young people can make a real and lasting impact in their community.

From soap and shampoo to toothbrushes, deodorant, and other daily essentials, each donated item represents dignity, comfort, and encouragement for individuals on their recovery journey.

Bethany Recovery Center provides critical support and services to individuals working toward healing and stability. Access to basic hygiene products can make a meaningful difference, helping restore confidence and reinforce a sense of self-worth. Thanks to the generosity of our YMCA community—and the leadership of our Teen Advisory Board—those served by Bethany will receive not only essential items, but also a reminder that they are supported and valued.

We are incredibly proud of our teen leaders and grateful to everyone who contributed to this effort. Reaching 752 items is a testament to what’s possible when leadership, compassion, and community come together.

Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community.

Stay connected with us for more opportunities to give back and make a difference!
