BUILDING SKILLS, CONFIDENCE AND CHARACTER!

The Y is the starting point for many kids to learn about becoming and staying active. Our Youth Sports programs promote healthy habits that they'll carry with them throughout their lives. We place priority on participation over winning, team building, developing as an individual, fair play and mutual respect for others. 

Our programs are led by dedicated Y staff and volunteers who have a passion for youth. Youth will gain a sense of belonging while developing skills and values. At the Glacial Community YMCA, everybody plays!

Baseball and Softball

YMCA baseball leagues emphasize fun, teamwork, sportsmanship and inclusion, while encouraging kids to be active – a benefit to them both physically and mentally.

Flag Football

The YMCA's flag football program helps kids learn football skills such as throwing and catching while receiving the rewards of being part of a team in this no-tackle sport.

Soccer at the YMCA focuses on developing fundamental soccer skills, while also learning teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship.

Winter Clinics

These are staff-led skill development sessions offered to all athletes regardless of league participation. They are designed to support players as they learn and grow their fundamental sports skills. They are perfect for beginners or athletes with experience.

Preschool Sports

Kids as young as 3 have the opportunity to be active build confidence, learn new skills and make new friends. As they progress through Y Preschool Sports, players will strengthen their basic sports skills and build self-confidence in a fun and engaging atmosphere.

Running Sports

We offer a variety of running programs including cross country, track and field, and triathlon.  YMCA Running programs provide a fun and supportive environment for runners of all ages. These programs will teach kids about fundamental running skills and techniques, with a major focus on fun!
