children excited and learning

For many years, we have been an organization that walked in the direction of a challenge. Now, we must focus our resources on those who need us most during this unprecedented time. Today, we are pivoting our resources to best support the most pressing needs in our community. We are aligning with our community partners to serve parents who need safe and reliable child care so they can work during this COVID-19 crisis.

On March 30th, the Y began providing Emergency Services Child Care for Essential Health Care Workers, Police Officers, Firefighters & EMTs. We are happy to announce we are now able to expand our capacity to serve a wider focus. We want to make sure that everyone who is required to work, including those outside of the health care field, has a safe and reliable place for their children to go.

Children enrolled in our program enjoy fun activities both indoors and out, plus they receive support from staff to complete their school work. A typical day includes a nature hike, academic focused activities, homework support, group challenges, and time for relaxation. Our staff keep the spaces fun but also clean. Extra precautions are in place to make sure materials and spaces are sanitized regularly after use.

We couldn’t do this without the support of our local school district.  We want to thank the Oconomowoc Area School District for their collaboration on this project. We are proud to walk alongside you to serve our communities.
